Barcelona or Madrid? Granada! Ask Werder's Spanish defensive all-arounder Alejandro Gálvez for his choice between the two biggest clubs in his homeland and he will give an answer that's closer to home. That's because Gálvez was born in Granada and played for the Andalusian club Granada CF starting at 8 years of age. And he still roots for them. Gálvez talked about that and much more in his first Werder Twitter chat.
The new acquisition took some time Thursday afternoon to answer the questions from Green-Whites fans. Through SV Werder's official Twitter channel, supporters could personally get to know the 25-year-old. User @NilsKnoeller wanted to know what would have happened to him if he hadn't become a footballer. "I would have gone to college, probably for sports medicine," Gálvez answered.
The Spaniard answered any question, ranging from his role model (Zinedine Zidane) to his favourite song ("All of me" by John Legend) to with whom he gets on best in the team (the Argentineans Santiago Garcia and Franco Di Santo). He also addressed questions about play on the pitch. "I would rather play central defence because I played there two years. But I can also play the midfield," he answered to user @MarcoPilz's question about his favourite position.
After about half an hour, Gálvez, who has his own Twitter account, was finished and said he had a good time. "It was really funny. The chat was a lot of fun and I was happy about the many different questions. My favourite question was what I like about Werder," said Gálvez, who had a series of answers ready. "The city, the people, the club, the fans - just everything," he wrote to user @La_del_Prado.
