Cooler temperatures could not keep a number of spectators from gathering at the Weser Stadium training grounds on Friday to watch the Green-Whites' final training before the showdown with Greuther Fürth on Saturday 27 October 2012 at 3:30 pm.

The fans and Werder team members alike were worried for a second when Sokratis received a knock on his foot in a challenge with Assani Lukimya. But the Greek international was able to shake it off and continue after a quick break and a pat on the backside by goalkeeper coach Michael Kraft. Head coach Thomas Schaaf was not worried about his defensive boss. "He was able to continue and I assume that he will play tomorrow," said the Werder coach after the session. Since he wasn't worried about Sokratis, Schaaf did not nominate an extra centre back for his defence against Fürth.

Another player also flying to Fürth will be Niclas Füllkrug. The striker played a day earlier for the Werder U23 team against Hannover's second team and spent the early afternoon Friday going through a cool down. Even though Thomas Wolter's team lost 3-2, Füllkrug had a successful match with two goals. Werder reserve keeper Raphael Wolf was also not at training on Friday but will be with the team in Fürth as Wolf missed Thursday and Friday for private reasons.

The following 18 players will board the plane at 5 p.m. for the team's third trip to southern Germany within a good month following matches in Freiburg and Augsburg: Mielitz, Wolf - Lukimya, De Bruyne, Arnautovic, Ekici, Elia, Schmitz, Hunt, Prödl, Junuzovic, Ignjovski, Akpala, Sokratis, Gebre Selassie, Petersen, Füllkrug und Bargfrede.
