Werder youngsters Niclas Füllkrug and Florian Hartherz have recovered from their injuries and were back on the Weser Stadium training grounds on Tuesday. Both young footballers participated in parts of the team training but they mainly went through individual drills with athletics coach Reinhard Schnittker.
Füllkrug, who missed the start of the second half of the season against Dortmund with knee problems, said afterwards he is ready for a full return to the team. "I didn't feel any pain and assume that I will be able to get back fully into training tomorrow. Everything went superb, nearly perfect," said the striker on the way back to the changing room.
The young 2013 has proven to be full of interruptions in training for Hartherz. The left back had to call off the training camp in Belek with the flu and is now still labouring under the effects of an ankle injury. "Now I feel fit again and am looking forward to getting back to the team training as quickly as possible," said the 19-year-old.
Raphael Wolf meanwhile traded his football boots for running shoes as the keeper had previously worked exclusively in the weight room following his hip operation but on Tuesday headed out-of-doors for the first time again. "It looks really good. I am on a good road and ahead of the rehab plan. Naturally, it's a nice feeling to be able to run again," said Wolf, who had a wide grin on his face during his jogging tour along the snow-covered training grounds. The goalkeeper would like to return to between the posts in two to three weeks.
