SV Werder have the first part of the China trip behind them. The Green-Whites group left Changchun Thursday afternoon and made their way towards Tianjin, a port city in northeastern China. Included in their luggage are first impressions, a 1-0 victory and a large trophy!

Captain Clemens Fritz hoisted the trophy into the heavens a night earlier after beating Changchun Yatai - with the applause of Chinese Werder fans and teammates. For Klaus Filbry and Thomas Eichin, the highlight of the night was still to come. The Werder managers as well as part of the club's delegation around marketing director Oliver Rau took up the invitation of Changchun club boss Tan Jingcheng for a dinner at a typical Chinese restaurant in downtown Changchun. They enjoyed local specialties such as leg of lamb, mutton heart and Pak Choi from an open grill as well as other offerings of the northern Chinese cuisine.

"That was an extraordinary evening, a fantastic insight into the Chinese eating culture. There were some customs that you never knew of from European countries, but theywere very exciting," said management chairman Filbry about the evening. For Eichin, the meal was the perfect end to the Changchun chapter. "That was a special adventure, an experience I will never forget," said Eichin.

And since the sports conditions in Changchun were good, the Werder group makes their way to Tianjin with a positive feeling and plenty of curiosity for more new impressions. The Green-Whites have until Sunday when they head to Beijing for a return flight Sunday evening to Germany.
