Captain Clemens Fritz has a lot of trust from Werder head coach Robin Dutt, and he will be back in the starting line-up for the match in Mönchengladbach (Saturday, 31 August 2013, 3:30 p.m.) following his injury break! That is at least the case if his positive recovery continues at the final training Friday afternoon. "I have finally been back at team training since Tuesday and I feel ready and fit for the weekend," said the 32-year-old about his comeback.
Dutt confirmed Fritz and his captaincy at the beginning of the season and spoke out his trust in Werder's leader. "Every team needs an efficient leadership figure. With Clemens, there is the ideal constellation of performance and leadership qualities," said the 48-year-old Werder coach, who also guaranteed Fritz a spot in the starting line-up. "As long as he is fit, he is secured a starting line-up spot. This team is made up of three to four pillars. He is one of the most important."
Fritz himself was naturally honoured about the situation but also knows that he cannot rest on his laurels. "Of course it's a great feeling if you get a lot of trust. But I want to pay this back with good performances. Therefore I want to prove myself day in, day out in training," said Fritz.
