Ischa Freimaak! The 977th edition of the biggest folk festival in northern Germany Freimarkt celebrated its kick-off last Friday in Bremen, and once again this year the Werder players will mark the start of the so-called fifth season. Captain Clemens Fritz and company have accepted the invitation from the operators of the Bavarian tent and will present themselves to the fans on the stage on Monday 29 October 2012.
"We're looking forward to being with the entire team once again in the Bavarian tent this year. It's traditionally a very fun evening and I can't wait to see what our new players have to offer," said Fritz with a wink. Nils Petersen is definitely looking forward to his Freimarkt debut with the team. "I was already there with my family on Sunday and was really excited. A few of my teammates have already said the tent is always bursting at the seams, so I expect a pretty fun atmosphere on Monday. The best warm-up of course would be a victory in Fürth. So I hope we can have three more points to our credit," said Petersen.
