Werder Bremen's new acquisition Florian Hartherz was on the pitch Thursday night with the German U19 national team in Verviers, Belgium and won 5-3. Friday morning he was already on the Bremen training grounds, working with Werder's professional players. Hartherz singed a contract with Werder two days ago, leaving Wolfsburg.

"My teammates welcomed me very well. I knew some of the players ahead of time, especially the young players. I am overjoyed that the transfer worked out, and I am ready for the new duties," said the left back about his first impressions with Werder.

The following 18 players were chosen by Thomas Schaaf for the test match against Union Berlin: Mielitz, Vander, Fritz, Wolf, Prödl, Naldo, Hartherz, Schoppenhauer, Trybull, Borowski, Wesley, Bargfrede, Aycicek, P. Stevanovic, Wagner, Hunt, Marin, Rosenberg.
