SV Werder Bremen have returned to their football daily routine. After a more than two week break, the Green-Whites players returned to the training grounds Tuesday morning 3 January 2012. Head coach Thomas Schaaf had available all players except for Tim Borowski, Özkan Yildirim and Levent Aycicek.
"It does good to be working on the pitch again. We can get some new strength and now really go after it. Besides, I am happy that the break was so short. If you look at the weather you don't really have the feeling that you need a winter break," said Werder manager Klaus Allofs on the sidelines at the first training.
But not all fit players could be seen on the pitch. Sokratis, Marko Marin, Mehmet Ekici, Sebastian Boenisch, Denni Avdic, Naldo and Sebastian Prödl all worked out in the weight room and were planning on taking the lactate test with the U23 players in the afternoon before boarding the plane Wednesday morning for the training camp in Belek, Turkey.
