Werder have had six matches in the second half of the season and four different centre back combinations. Bremen head coach Thomas Schaaf had to make changes nearly every game, and that will continue against Augsburg as Sokratis returns alongside Assani Lukimya while Sebastian Prödl must sit out suspended due to his red card against Munich.

But the constant rotation is no problem for Lukimya, who has started five matches in a row. "It's not really that difficult since we also train in different formations. I have played often with both of them so it's not really a big change," said the Congolese.

And the 27-year-old Lukimya is certain that the defensive performance against Augsburg must be better than in Munich and against Freiburg. "We cannot be satisfied at all with so many goals conceded. Forty-seven are definitely too many," said Lukimya. "Our goal is to improve on that as quickly as possible. We worked pretty intensively on that this week and worked out a lot of things that went wrong. I am certain that we will do a better job in the next game."

These 18 players hope to keep the three points in Bremen on Saturday: Mielitz, Strebinger - Pavlovic, Lukimya, De Bruyne, Arnautovic, Ekici, Elia, Schmitz, Hunt, Junuzovic, Ignjovski, Akpala, Sokratis, Gebre Selassie, Petersen, Trybull and Yildirim.
