A special event took place with the match against VfL Wolfsburg as the backdrop. Fans from Sweden, Scotland, England, United States, Russia, Belarus, Austria, Kenya, China, Czech Republic and Ethiopia were visiting SV Werder Bremen as part of the 2013 International Werder Weekend. The highlight of the weekend for the fans was a meeting with club president Klaus-Dieter Fischer and the surprising guests Aleksandar Ignjovski and Theo Gebre Selassie.

The best was saved for last as the "Internationals" spent their last day together with a comfortable gathering and lunch in the clubhouse at the "Platz 11" grounds. In addition to president Fischer, Werder players Ignjovski and Gebre Selassie also appeared at the lunch. After a video greeting from the team, Fischer warmly welcomed the international guests and discussed a number of topics with the fans. "Iggy" and Theo were also on hand for the relaxed question-and-answer session and also signed autographs.

Ignjovski draws Chinese characters
Ignjovski showed that he can do more than just play football. In addition to talking to fans in various languages, he even drew Chinese characters. The program ended with a group picture with the players.

With their charity campaign "Wheel to the Weser", the members of the "Scottish Werder" fan club rode 500 kilometres on their bicycles in three days. They were collecting donations for the Tartan Army Children's Charity organisation in Scotland and the Bremen group Trauerland - Zentrum für trauernde Kinder und Jugendliche e.V.

International Werder Weekend planned for 2014 as well
The participants of the second International Werder Weekend definitely experienced the motto "Together a Werder Family". After the event, the fans agreed that they will remember the weekend until next year when it will be repeated.
