Werder are travelling to North Rhine-Westphalia to pick up three points! That was the spirit heard out of Green-Whites camp the past few days. After losing 1-0 at Borussia Dortmund, SV Werder head into another away match - again against a Borussia side as Bremen play in Mönchengladbach on Saturday 31 August 2013 at 3:30 p.m.

WERDER.DE as always put together statistics about the match:
Did you know ...

... that Thomas Eichen has a special connection to Borussia Mönchengladbach? Werder's manager played with Gladbach from 1985 to 1999 (he was on loan to Nuremberg for six months in 1995), appearing in 180 matches.

... that Werder have conceded the fewest goals this season along with Dortmund? The goalkeepers from the runners-up and SV Werder have only had to reach behind them once this season - the best in the league. The Green-Whites had allowed at least one goal in the last 14 matches prior to Robin Dutt's taking over as head coach.

... that the Green-Whites played very well against Gladbach last season? Werder beat Lucien Favre's team 4-0 at Weser Stadium while Bremen collected a 1-1 draw at Borussia Park.

... that coach Robin Dutt will experience his 100th match as a Bundesliga coach in the contest in Gladbach? Dutt's teams with SC Freiburg, Bayer Leverkusen and Werder Bremen have collected an average of 1.26 points per match. The coach hopes to improve that average while at Bremen.

... that Dutt is highly respectful of Gladbach? "We cannot go out and expect any ‘hooray football'. We will be facing a tough opponent and must stand well defensively once again. Lucien Favre has done superb work with Gladbach. He has displayed how you lead a team up step by step. Gladbach have developed very well under him and is once again a candidate for the international spots this season."
