After the team returned from their 4-0 loss at Hamburg early Saturday evening, the team bus was stopped on the ramp to Weser Stadium by about 250 fans who wanted to discuss their discontent with the current situation as well as the Green-Whites' showing at Imtech Arena. Klaus Allofs, Thomas Schaaf as well as team captain Torsten Frings and his deputies Per Mertesacker and Clemens Fritz - and later the entire team - addressed the supporters and went through a factual discussion.
"It is absolutely correct how the fans voiced themselves. You could clearly tell their worries about the current situation," said Allofs with full understanding of the fans' very peaceful action. "The manner in which they presented themselves was positive and gives one courage." Frings told the supporters that the situation is not just dissatisfying for the fans but also for the team and that they could only cope with it together. The fans left their team into the night with songs and chants such as "We are Bremen", "Never second division" and "Thomas Schaaf, you are the best".
