Mehmet Ekici leaves SV Werder Bremen with immediate effect and moves to Turkish first division club Trabzonspor Kulübü. Werder's general manager Thomas Eichin confirmed the transfer on Monday afternoon.

Ekici travelled to Turkey on Sunday to undergo the obligatory medical examinations and is available to his new club immediately. Mehmet Ekici made his initial move to the banks of the Weser from FC Bayern Munich in the summer of 2011.

In 41 Bundesliga games for SVW, the 24-year-old scored four goals and provided four further assists. The midfield player was also involved in two DFB-Cup games for the Green-Whites.
