There was a moment of shock during Thursday afternoon's training. During a tackle, Sebastian Prödl stepped on the foot of Mehmet Ekici, who remained on the ground afterwards and shortly thereafter had to leave the session with a grimace on his face. "He got a knock on his toe. I believe and hope it's nothing major," said Robin Dutt Friday morning while Ekici was having X-rays on his foot.

In the afternoon, the Turkish international gave the all-clear. "Luckily, nothing is broken. I will need to slow down the next couple days because it still hurts when I step on it and when I shoot. But I will return to training in Jerez," said the midfielder.

While the team-mates headed out for the second session, Ekici took a tour on the bike along with Clemens Fritz, Zlatko Junuzovic and Felix Kroos. "We are riding to Madrid and will stop by Seville on the way back," said Ekici with a smile on his face.
