What looked like would be the case in the last couple of days was made certain at the final training Friday afternoon as Werder Bremen will travel to Frankfurt at 5 p.m. today without Aaron Hunt.
The deputy captain will miss the match on Saturday at Eintracht Frankfurt (kick-off at 6:30 p.m.) due to his linger calf problems. "It wasn't enough," said Werder head coach Thomas Schaaf regretfully.
Also not on the Werder roster for the Frankfurt match is reserve keeper Raphael Wolf, who was operated on in Heidelberg on Wednesday. Instead, Schaaf nominated U23 keeper Richard Strebinger, who filled in for Wolf last weekend in Hoffenheim.
Zlatko Junuzovic is once again part of Werder's roster after his suspension. These 17 players want to pick up three points in Frankfurt: Mielitz, Strebinger - Lukimya, De Bruyne, Arnautovic, Fritz, Ekici, Elia, Schmitz, Prödl, Junuzovic, Ignjovski, Akpala, Sokratis, Gebre Selassie, Petersen und Füllkrug.
