Werder's new manager of sports Thomas Eichin moved into his office on Thursday, talked about his first duties at a press conference and explained his jobs for the first couple days in Bremen.
Eichin is happy to finally arrive in Bremen, as is head coach Thomas Schaaf about having his new manager on hand. "I think it's good that Thomas Eichin finally can take over his position and concentrate solely on Werder Bremen. We are very happy that he is here now. But we should give him time to settle in," said Schaaf.
"For now, I will try to get used to all the procedures. I will set up my office the next couple days and get to know the team and the workers," said Eichin about his plans for the coming days and weeks. "I am very happy to get going right away. That makes it easier for me to forget my departure from the Cologne Sharks. I can dive right into my new work."
Things will get serious for Eichin in just two days when the Freiburg native will experience SC Freiburg at Weser Stadium. He also answered the question about where he will watch the match. "I will sit on the coaching bench because I would like to be very close up and get to know all the procedures and also see for example how the physios work. It's important for me to gain a lot of insight," said Eichin.
