It's getting closer and closer. In less than 30 hours, the Werder players will square off against Cologne in their ever-so-important home match. "We need to finally get a victory so that things quiet down," said manager Thomas Eichin at the pre-game press conference. "We all owe ourselves a victory," said head coach Robin Dutt. The coach also talked about the past week of training and possible changes in the line-up and squad as well as expressing his wish to the fans.

Robin Dutt about...

... the week of training: "We have a good week behind us. The guys have a good mentality towards training and a positive body language. The mood is so that I know we want to have a good match."

... the approach for the match: "We understand ourselves as a team and we all owe ourselves a victory. We have done a lot of things really well in the first three home matches. We must do these again on the pitch. But now the head is playing a bigger role. We must bring a good spirit to the pitch."

... the role of the fans: "I hope the fans do what they always have done - recognise that the team needs their support. We totally rely on everyone sticking together and getting it done together. But we also know that we must take the first step."

... the possible return of Theodor Gebre Selassie: "Theo trained well this week and completed all the sessions with the team without any problems. You could tell from him how happy he was to be back and we are also very happy that he is back. Theo is a typical balance player, who thinks both defensively and offensively."

... about the opponents: " Cologne do a good, steady job. In the first few games they often changed their style - first they played very defensively but now they are scoring more goals too. It will be a hard challenge for us."
