Likeable, honest and self-critical: Robin Dutt came up with an impressive performance at his official presentation Tuesday afternoon. The new Werder head coach talked to numerous media representatives about various topics, Bremen and plenty of other issues over nearly 42 minutes in the Weser Stadium press conference room.

Robin Dutt about ...

... his playing philosophy:
"After 14 years with Thomas Schaaf, you must have a certain sensitivity about how issues are handled in the future. First of all, we all must get to know one another. We want to play a football that the fans enjoy but especially that the players enjoy. We want to play a good, attractive football, which means scoring a lot of goals and not conceding many. That should define us in the future. We have lots of partial goals. We don't want to talk about the big goals just yet but deal with individual topics very sensibly.

... his long telephone chat with Thomas Schaaf:
"He congratulated me and told me that the job fits me well and that I am taking over a good club. Thomas is very popular among the colleagues. The telephone talk with him once again strengthened that impression. He is an unbelievably authentic guy. He characterised Werder. He may have parted ways with Werder Bremen contractually but he will always remain a part of this club. My sentiments have been triggered through the work of Thomas Schaaf."

... his coaching staff of Damir Buric and Marco Langner:
"Assistant coaches have a different role nowadays. It's not like in the past where they only did certain drills and set up cones. I am bringing in this coaching staff because they are part of my ideals. I would only be half the coach I am or a third without them."
