Bad news for Werder striker Franco Di Santo! The Argentine front man, who picked up an injury with the Green-Whites during training on Friday, has since received the diagnosis of a muscle sinew tear to his left thigh. A detailed examination on Friday evening confirmed the full extent of the injury, which had previously been prognosticated by team doctor Dr. Götz Dimanski. The Argentine goal-getter was also unable to participate in the TARGOBANK game on Sunday against FV Unterharmersbach.
Trainer Robin Dutt can very much sympathise with the attacker's current frame of mind: „It's really bitter for him, as it is for the whole team. On Saturday in Stuttgart his three week suspension would have been expired, now he is expected to be out for at least another three weeks".
Franco Di Santo made the move to Werder during the summer but saw red on his starting eleven debut against Eintracht Frankfurt at the Weser-Stadion and incurred a three game ban.
