It's about that time again! The first decision for next season is closing in as the first round of the German Cup will be drawn as part of the ARD Sportschau program on Saturday 11 June 2011 at 6 p.m.

The first games take place the weekend between 29 July and 1 August 2011. Making the draw for the Green-Whites will be German women's international Célia Okoyino da Mbabi. She will pick the 32 matches of the first round of the 69th tournament.

SV Werder were put into Pot 1 which includes the top 32 professional team from the first and second division teams from last season. Each will be drawn against an amateur team from Pot 2. Second division promoted sides Eintracht Braunschweig, Dynamo Dresden and Hansa Rostock as well as 15th placed from the second division Karlsruher SC will also be considered amateur sides and could be a possible first round opponent for Werder. The amateur teams always have home pitch advantage in the German Cup. Thomas Schaaf's team will definitely play their first match of the 2011-12 season away from home.
