The German national team played to a 2-2 draw in their friendly with Euro 2012 co-hosts Poland in Gdansk. Werder keeper Tim Wiese played 90 minutes in earning his fifth cap. And Wiese was in the spotlight a number of times as he twice made superb stops against Cologne's Slawomir Peszko before falling Poland's Dariusz Dudkain in the area in stoppage time. Dortmund's Jakub Blaszczykowski converted the penalty to make it 2-1 before Cacau scored the late equaliser. Robert Lewandowski gave Poland the lead, which Toni Kroos equalised in the 68th minute with a penalty for his first goal for Germany, who have not lost to Poland in 17 match-ups.
"I am thankful that we have these kinds of games. And that we scored the goal in the final minute. And I am thankful that we do not win every game. It's my responsibility that some things do not work - when you make so many substitutions. Not everything has to work in a test match. But it gives a coach many insights," said German national team coach Joachim Löw.
