When Werder Bremen take on Hamburg in the 95th North Derby on Saturday 10 September 2011 at 6:30 p.m. (in live ticker at WERDER.DE), Tim Borowski will not be on the squad list. The midfielder, who had just returned on the weekend in the test match against Union Berlin after missing four weeks, will be missing for the Bundesliga classic this weekend. Head coach Thomas Schaaf said Borowski once again has problems with his ankle.

Schaaf is also continuing to contemplate whether to nominate Brazilian defender Naldo for the game roster. "Every training is doing him good. It's important that he doesn't hold back but can worry about what is happening on the pitch and what football is made of," said Schaaf. Also a question mark is if Lukas Schmitz can play as the 22-year-old is dealing with knee problems. A major stalwart of the Bremen defence will be Sokratis as the Greek international returned free of injury from Greece's Euro 2012 qualification matches. "We are very satisfied with his condition. In the last couple of weeks he has had some tremendous performances, regardless of position. With that he gives us certain freedoms in being able to play him in different spots," said Schaaf about the Greek international.
