Head coach Thomas Schaaf knows what awaits his players, the coaching staff and team officials on site. "Experience has shown that we always have optimal conditions in Belek. Once again this year we have a fantastic headquarters and are hoping for good weather," said the Werder coach shortly before the start of the training camp.

With the team for the first time is Werder's new acquisition from Croatia Mateo Pavlovic while U19 keeper Kevin Otremba is replacing the injured Raphael Wolf in the team. A late scratch from the training camp was Florian Hartherz, who stayed home at the last minute due to the flu, leaving 29 players for the flight to Antalya and the busses to Belek.
