A broad alliance of social institutions, political parties and unions in Bremen would like to make a statement against racism and violence with a demonstration on Wednesday 28 September 2011. SV Werder Bremen is also supporting this event, which has the motto "Stopping right-wing violence!" and starts at 5 p.m. at the East Curve hall of Weser Stadium.
Among the representatives from the Green-Whites at the demonstration will be fan representatives Julia Ebert and Till Schüssler. "Wherever there are practical initiatives against racism and violence, SV Werder Bremen stands behind them 100 percent. That has been the case in the past and will be so in the future as well," said Werder President Klaus-Dieter Fischer.
The call for a demonstration came after the Bremen district court last week started proceedings after four and a half years of investigatory work into an attack by a right wing extremist on the East Curve hall. The public was outraged about the court's suggested punishment as well as the behaviour of right wing extremists in the court building.
