Martin Kobylanski and Julian von Haacke have signed professional contracts with SV Werder Bremen. Both youth players extended their collaboration with the Green-Whites until 30 June 2017, as confirmed Tuesday afternoon by Werder manager Thomas Eichin.
"We are happy to give two talented players from our own ranks the chance to continue to develop with us. We are convinced that both will be part of the Bundesliga club over the long term," said Eichin. About the moves, head coach Robin Dutt said: "Both have developed very well in the last few months. It's the correct way to rely on your own youth."
Kobylanski celebrated his Bundesliga debut on the sixth match day of the current season. The 19-year-old was in the starting line-up in the Green-Whites' 2-0 victory in the North Derby over Hamburg. In addition, the Polish junior international also was subbed in during the home match against Nuremberg and the away contest at Wolfsburg. Kobylanski also played eight times for Werder's U23 team in the Regionalliga Nord, scoring nine goals.
Von Haacke has not yet played in Germany's top flight but was also on the professional game squad for the Hamburg match. The Bremen native has trained regularly with Hunt, Petersen and Co. and has become a regular for Werder's U23 team, where he has played 17 matches.
