The 2-2 draw against Athletic Bilbao Sunday evening was the conclusion of some intensive days in the Austrian Alps with which Robin Dutt was very satisfied. "We got through our entire training program, really took a step forward physically and playing style wise and the team spirit is nearly perfect. Some of the guys were running on steam at the end, but we achieved quite a bit. The whole bottom line is very good," said the coach.
Thomas Eichin also said he was very satisfied. "We really worked performance-based here. We have a really good group character-wise as everyone is there for one another," said the manager of sports. The only issue was the quality of the training grounds. "The grounds were not optimal. Everyone involved really gave their best effort but you cannot change the weather."
Fritz, Prödl and Co. do not have a lot of time before the end of their preparations. After returning to Bremen, things will move quickly. "We know exactly what we have to work on now. Until now we were almost always the better team in the games. The running patterns on offense are very good at times, now we will be challenged especially on defence in the coming matches against tough opponents. And we need to get better in this area," said Dutt.
