Werder Bremen finished off their training camp in Blankenhain Weimarer Land with a positive result by beating third division side Rot-Weiß Erfurt 6-0. The victory also snapped the Green-Whites' losing streak of four straight test match defeats. "The players really did a good job at the training camp. Now they will get two days off," said head coach Robin Dutt.
"This victory against Erfurt was only a small step. We implemented quite well some tactical ideas and I was happy that we didn't let up after the 2-0 lead. Still, we failed to convert a few too many chances. Altogether though we are satisfied," said Dutt after the 6-0 win in Erfurt.
Altogether, the training camp in Blankenhain was a positive. "We had great conditions here just like at the other two training camps and were able to really work intensively," said Clemens Fritz. After five days on Norderney, six days in Zillertal and nearly another week in eastern Germany, Dutt gave his players two days off. "Now we absolutely have to give them two days off. The guys really earned that. How they are giving it their all in the first few weeks, I really have to say it's fun working with them. The attitude is absolutely great, you could see that today in the 6-0 win. How the players really were happy about the goals," said the coach.
The first season highlight comes on Sunday with the "Day of the Fans 2013" and the friendly against FC Fulham. Nobody at Weser Stadium would have anything against more Green-Whites goals on Sunday
