Junior German international Tom Trybull will play starting next season for SV Werder Bremen as the 18-year-old midfielder from Hansa Rostock signed a professional contract Monday morning until 30 June 2014 following a sports physical in Bremen. At the same time, Werder player Timo Perthel, who spent last season on loan at Sturm Graz and has a contract until 30 June 2012 transferred to Hansa where he signed a two-year deal.

"We acquired a very young player in Tom Trybull who is just starting his way in professional football but is very interesting for us. We want to give him the opportunity to develop quickly and collect important experiences at the highest level," said manager Klaus Allofs after the successful transfer. "It is an excellent bargain for all sides. In Timo Perthel, Hansa get a player who comes back from Austria as a champion and was very interested in a transfer because he wanted to continue to gather lasting game practice. With our intended competitive situation we could not guarantee him that," added Allofs.

The Berlin native Trybull, who decided for Werder despite Hansa Rostock being promoted to the second division, is looking forward to the season preparations with the professional players. "I see better perspectives here because Bremen are known for successfully developing young players. The latest example is Florian Trinks, who worked his way to the professional side last season despite a longer injury break. I hope that I have a good start here. I know that the burden will be higher than it was in Rostock. I have already heard a lot about it and will prepare for the start of the training," said Trybull.

Trybull was last season eligible to play for Hansa Rostock's A-Youth Bundesliga team but played almost exclusively for Hansa's third division team. The defensive midfielder collected 18 appearances in the third division and was nominated for the German U18 national team for the first time on 24 March 2011. While playing for head coach Horst Hrubesch, Trybull played with Werder youth talent Özkan Yildirim against France. Trybull started his football career with FC Berlin before moving to SV Lichtenberg, Union Berlin and then Hansa, where he developed into a youth international.

Perthel, who had played with Werder youth teams since 1999, leaves Werder having played one Bundesliga match and 63 games for the U23s. In the past season, he was on loan to Austrian top flight side Sturm Graz, winning the title in 20 appearances.
