This year's Werder Christmas party could not have been any better with a splendidly decorated giant Christmas tree, a visit by Santa Claus and loads of snow outside. Some 330 guests celebrated Monday afternoon at El Mundo in the Bremen district Überseestadt.
Players, coaches, team staff and Werder employees enjoyed a comfortable afternoon with family atmosphere in front of a fireplace and a four-course meal. "I am really happy that Werder employees can celebrate together with the players and the coaching staff," said president and manager Klaus-Dieter Fischer. "It's a deserved celebration for the end of the year, also for the team behind the team. Once again this year, great ideas were developed and exciting projects were started," said Fischer with thanks.
"It's a really nice finish to the year which we all deserve," added Klaus Filbry. The chairman of the board of directors said he was looking forward to a thought-provoking Christmas season after an eventful year. "During Christmas, we all have time to shut down and recharge our batteries."
