Zài Jiàn, China! The WERDER BREMEN CHINA TOUR 2014 is over. The Green-Whites landed again in Bremen at about 2 p.m. Monday afternoon. That meant the conclusion of the first stage of the summer preparations. After seven days in the Far East and stops in Changchun, Tianjin and Beijing, the Werder leaders drew a positive conclusion. "We felt very welcome, had some great experiences and had some very good sporting competition. It was worth it to make the trip to China. Thank you very much that we could be here," Klaus Filbry, chairman of the management said Friday at the official gala dinner.

Thomas Eichin also saw the trip as a positive. "That was a very exciting trip in a lot of respects. Almost no one in the delegation had previously been in China. We experienced something new every day, got to know the country and the people and gathered a lot of experiences," said the sports manager.

The trip was a success from a sports point of view as well. "There were at times some pretty extreme conditions but we still got in some good work. The grounds were in good condition and we played two good opponents in the test matches, which we played successfully. Therefore it was a good trip from a sports standpoint as well," said a satisfied Eichin.

Dutt: "The cohesion was the positive."

Head coach Robin Dutt agreed with the evaluations of the two managers. "The team once again in China showed their quality in terms of mentality. We worked so hard that I figured the team would break down with every additional day. But that didn't happen. The team even turned around the test match in Tianjin when they were really exhausted," said Dutt, who summed up the trip in one sentence. "The cohesion of the team was the positive."

This unity, which characterised SV Weder last season, will be strengthened by the players after their return. Things pick up for Fritz, Petersen and Co. right after their return. The Green-Whites have to board another plane already on Tuesday - this time with Stettin as the destination. They will be playing a test match there Tuesday night at 6 p.m. against Pogon Stettin.
