Werder Bremen will employ a new ban regulation in the stadium rules against right-wing fans from Borussia Dortmund for the home match against Dortmund on Saturday 19 January 2013. As part of new stadium regulations which came into effect with the start of the season, extremist-orientated individuals can be kept from entering the stadium if they are determined to have or spread racist thoughts.
Werder Bremen banned from the stadium eight criminals recognised by police. From past game experience, it can be assumed that these persons will commit criminal acts once again and have a right-wing orientated behaviour. There is already a nationwide stadium ban for one known ringleader.
"One of Werder Bremen's major goals is to ban racist and extremist thoughts from our stadium. For this reason, we worked closely with the security officials against eight persons from Dortmund recognised by police to be right-wing minded and declared a local stadium ban for Weser Stadium," said Werder manager Klaus-Dieter Fischer.
