SV Werder will be playing at Bayer 04 Leverkusen on Saturday in the Bundesliga. And with Leverkusen fighting for a Champions League spot, the Green-Whites will have a tough task this weekend. One reason for optimism is that Werder have traditionally played well at BayArena and often picked up points.

WERDER.DE compiled all of the important facts and figures for you ahead of the showdown against the third-placed team.

Did you know ...

... that Leverkusen are undefeated against Bremen in the last nine Bundesliga matches (three wins, six draws)? Werder's last victory was a 1-0 win in Leverkusen in May 2008. Markus Rosenberg opened the gate to the Champions League with his goal in the 80th minute. Clemens Fritz and Sebastian Mielitz were the only players from the current roster on the squad back then.

... that Bayer have struggled at home in the last few years when Werder come to BayArena? The Green-Whites did lose the last showdown 1-0 but Leverkusen had not won any of their previous six games (four draws, two losses) before that.

... that Leverkusen are nearly perfect this season in front of their home fans? Leverkusen have picked up 33 points in their 15 Bundesliga home matches, making them the second best home side in the Bundesliga this season. The only two losses this season came against Dortmund (3-2) and Bayern Munich (2-1).

... that Werder have gone nine matches without a victory (four draws, five losses)? No other Bundesliga team are winless as long as the Green-Whites. Bremen's last victory dates back to 9 February when they won 4-1 at VfB Stuttgart.

... that current Bayer director of sports Rudi Völler scored 97 goals in 137 Bundesliga matches for the Green-Whites? Völler played from 1982 to 1987 in Bremen alongside Thomas Schaaf. Völler's 97 goals leaves him even with Frank Neubarth as the second-best Bundesliga goal scorer in Werder history behind only Marco Bode's 101 goals.
