Werder players did not have training but there was a trio of Green-Whites who were currently working hard to return to team training. And despite the daily grind in the weight room, intensive sessions with the physiotherapists and tired bones, the three Werder players would not miss the chance Monday night to answer questions from Werder fans in Bremerhaven. Theodor Gebre Selassie, Philipp Bargfrede and Julian von Haacke took part in "Werder Talk" and discussed their injuries, comeback plans and lots more.

All three had positive news to report. "I am on a good road. I don't have any pain and the knee is not swollen any more. At the moment, I'm getting better day by day and I can begin with running training in the coming days," said Bargfrede, who had two smaller setbacks this year since his knee operation in May.

As far as when he could come back to team training, Bargfrede did not want to offer a prognosis. Neither did his teammate Gebre Selassie. "Of course I hope that it won't take too much longer. I am getting better. We're doing an MRI every week and controlling the developments. But I still have to take smaller steps," said the Czech international. "At the moment, I am doing stabilization drills and running on the low-impact treadmill. I am careful with everything I am doing. Too much at one time could be too risky."

Theodor Gebre Selassie will be guest on Wednesday on WERDER.TV news and talk about his comeback plans, his son and lots more. It will be worthwhile to check it out!

The longest way back goes to youngster Julian von Haacke, who has been out for five months with a torn knee ligament. But the Bremen native has a clear goal in sight. "The plan is to get back in mid-November," said von Haacke. Until then he plans on working hard - twice a day in the weight room, coordination drills and running training. And that six times a week

This is an entirely new experience for von Haacke. "It's my worst injury. I looked at the stories of the other players who also had bad luck and partially came back stronger. That gave me courage and at the same time made me certain that I would come back," said the 20-year-old.
