SV Werder Bremen and midfielder Levent Aycicek would like to continue working together long term as the Bundesliga club and the Werder talent agreed to an adjusted contract. The new deal features an option in which the collaboration would automatically be extended until 30 June 2018 if the 20-year-old appears in a certain number of games. Neither side released further details about the deal.
Werder manager Thomas Eichin said he was satisfied with the result of the talks. "We found a solution which takes into account the positive working relationship of the last few months and one in which Levent has a realistic future perspective if he continues to develop," said Eichin. Aycicek is looking forward to the challenge. "I am in my second year as a professional now and will continue to go all out every day in order to in the long run play a role with Werder. The new constellation is a further incentive for me," said Aycicek.
Aycicek celebrated his Bundesliga debut on the 20th match day of last season, getting subbed in after 79 minutes against Borussia Dortmund and scoring his first Bundesliga goal 10 minutes later. The German youth international has appeared in one Bundesliga match since then and played in 24 games for Werder's U23 team. He scored seven goals and collected six assists.
