Twelve months have flown by - filled with highs and lows, celebrations and disappointments, departures and returns. 2011 - a year with wonderful moments but also some difficult times between relegation angst and dreams of fall championships. It's not easy to retain an overview of it all. That's why WERDER.DE once again is offering its Green-Whites almanac at year's end. Werder 2011 from A to Z, to remember and smile. Today: Part 5 - M to O:
The best place to experience Werder is and will remain Weser Stadium. But what can you do if you happen to not be in Bremen? Or if the winter break is upon us? And what about the time between the games? Is there not some way to do something with your favourite team?
Well, yes you can! And for the past year it's been even more complete and better arranged than ever before. SV Werder's online world was re-launched anew just about a year ago. And with just one account you can review the most recent match, order tickets for the next game and purchase the latest jersey. WERDER.DE is of course also available on the go. The mobile portal has been optimized for use with smart phones. In addition, the Werder App has been available for all Werder fans since recently - as Werder reacted to the increasing number of smart phones out there. The Werder App with the diamond offers the latest information regarding your favourite club, just one click away at all times. And it looks great too.
Some fans would love to slide tackle in a Werder game themselves or mix it up in an argument or even take a free kick. Of course that was not possible in 2011 at Weser Stadium, but the Green-Whites supporters have gotten a lot closer to the action on the pitch thanks to the renovations of the stadium. And the work has helped the atmosphere even more in the stadium. Werder's new Weser Stadium has proven itself as a real fortress with seven victories in eight home matches in the Bundesliga - making Werder the best team at home during the 2011-12 season thus far.
The schedule has not led SV Werder Bremen to the eastern parts of the republic that often in the past few years. No club from the former East Germany has been part of the Bundesliga for years. That made it all the more special for players and staff to play test matches against third division sides Rot-Weiß Erfurt (2-1 victory) and Chemnitz FC (0-0).
