No other away match on SV Werder's schedule is closer to the Swiss border than this Sunday's game at Freiburg. And it's practically a home match for Bremen's new player Francois Affolter.
The Swiss player, who transferred from BSC Young Boys to Bremen one and a half weeks ago, will experience a special highlight already in his second game for the Green-Whites. The Biel native will see his parents again in Bresgau. "They will be there to watch the game. They haven't seen me live since last September. This is special for me," said an excited Affolter after seeing his family again.
"My parents used to come to Bern for every home match. And they also were there for away games in Zurich. But recently I only sat on the bench in Bern so they haven't seen me for a longer time. Since Biel is only two hours away, there will not be a better chance to see each other," said Affolter.
