Conceding goals annoys Felix Wiedwald. He's especially annoyed that he is yet to keep a clean sheet this term, but he's refreshed after a winter break - which saw him get married to long-term partner Kim - and is looking forward to returning to action.
WERDER.DE: Hello Felix, firstly congratulations on the wedding. Did you enjoy the day?
Felix Wiedwald: "The day itself was probably the best one of my life to date, but the night before tense. I had a lot of things to think about and prepare for. There was a lot to do!"
WERDER.DE: Can you just explain a bit about how the day panned out?
Felix Wiedwald: "We went to the registry office to do the legal part and then celebrated with our families. After that a party took place, with many of our friends attending. It didn't finish until the following day."
WERDER.DE: That sounds like the perfect day...
Felix Wiedwald: "It couldn't have been better."
WERDER.DE: And what's life like as a married man?
Felix Wiedwald: "It does feel a bit different. I have more responsibility now. We're officially a family now but there are no plans for children currently. We just want to spend time with our dog, who behaves like a small child at times!"
WERDER.DE: The festive period is now over and football is back. What are your thoughts on the season so far?
Felix Wiedwald: "It could have gone a lot better. We have had a bad campaign so far and we're far from happy. If we maintain that level of performance after Christmas then we'll probably go down. We are all aware of that and because of this we're working extremely hard at the minute and will be doing all we can to claim points after the break. We have quality in our squad and I'm sure that it will all come together shortly."
WERDER.DE: Despite the tabular situation, can you be pleased with the fact that many supporters believe you've been one of the side's best players so far this term?
Felix Wiedwald: "It's a nice thing to hear but I need to continue to play to that level after the break. However, football is a team sport and we all need to give it our all. We've not kept a clean sheet yet and are conceding too many goals, so that's irritating."
WERDER.DE: How annoyed are you that you're yet to keep a Bundesliga clean sheet this term?
Felix Wiedwald: "It's frustrating for sure. We've made too many individual errors and conceded too many goals late on. We're not happy but will work hard to change things."
WERDER.DE: You arrived at Regnum Carya this week. What are your first impressions of the place?
Felix Wiedwald: "The hotel is great - but it was always going to be, seeing as it held a G20 summit recently! It's ideally located as the journey to the pitches doesn't take long. It's perfect for us."
WERDER.DE: The conditions are excellent too. What will you be working on in the coming days?
Felix Wiedwald: "Obviously we won't have time to improve everything but we know that we'll be focussing on a number of things that we've repeatedly done wrong."
