Werder Bremen have been drawn against Bayer Leverkusen in the DFB Cup quarter-finals. The draw was conducted by Germany international handball goalkeeper Carsten Lichtlein as well as DFB general secretary Helmut Sandrock following Borussia Dortmund's 2-0 win over FC Augsburg. The last time Bremen took on Leverkusen in the cup was in the 2009 final, with this season's quarter-finals will take place on 9th and 10th February 2016.

Werder reaction to the quarter-final draw:

Thomas Eichin: "It's obviously a hard draw, as we'd have preferred to have a home tie, but in the cup, you have to take the games as they come. We've already shown this season that we can perform away from home and we want to do the same in Leverkusen."

Viktor Skripnik: "We would have liked to have a home game, but this draw is a chance for us to show that we can play better against Leverkusen than we did last time out in the Bundesliga. It's a hard task but we'll do all we can to get through to the next round."

Clemens Fritz: "It's just as hard a draw as Gladbach were, but I'm looking forward to the game in Leverkusen and we'll give everything to progress."

Anthony Ujah: "It'll be a very hard game but we're in with a chance. We'll go into it full of confidence. If we manage to play as well as we did in Gladbach, I'm convinced we'll return to Bremen with a win."

Janek Sternberg: "I don't care who we play. We're in the quarter-finals and we want to keep going. Leverkusen are a strong team, but we showed in Gladbach that we can beat top sides away from home. However, I would have loved to play in front of our own fans."

Felix Wiedwald: "It won't be easy, but if we battle with as much passion as we did against Gladbach, we have a chance in Leverkusen of getting to the next round."
