After the win comes the draw for the next round. Just one day after the great 4-3 victory over Gladbach, the excitement for the quarter finals of the DFB Cup is already high. The draw will be made after the second round of fixtures tonight at 23:15 CET.

For the first time since 2010, Werder have made it to the last eight of the DFB Cup. Sporting director Thomas Eichin's anticipation for the draw is growing. "Above all we want a home fixture. We saw in October how important for the fans, city and club it was." That was Eichin's wish to Carsten Lichtlein, who will be making the draw.

Goalscorer Anthony Ujah, who has netted in every cup game so far for Werder, scored the winner last night. "I am looking forward to the quarter final regardless of who we play. It's the cup so anything can happen and if we play like we did yesterday, we can beat almost anyone," said the Nigerian. Jannik Vestergaard will be following the draw on TV. "I actually don't have any particular opponents in mind. A game against Bayern would be very difficult. Meanwhile we can relax watching the other games and concentrate on Saturday. The Bundesliga is our priority at the moment." Janek Sternberg, however, was hoping for a specific opponent. "I would have loved to play Erzgebirge Aue and my best buddy who plays there, Max Wegner. Unfortunately they are out."

Werder veteran Claudio Pizarro knows the difficulties of the quarter finals. The Peruvian has made eleven appearances at this stage of the DFB Cup in his career. "There are no easy opponents in the quarter finals, so every draw is of similar difficulty. I would hope we don't get drawn against Bayern or Dortmund. Although they would, of course, be special games," said the 37-year-old.

The quarters will be played on Tuesday 9th and Wednesday 10th February 2016.
