It's certainly not an ideal day. Whether wearing the captain's armband during the Nordderby loss, speaking to the media the day after or attending the Fan Club Christmas party, it's hard to find the right words.
In spite of this, vice captain Zlatko Junuzovic faced the critical questions. "We disappointed a lot of people. The blame falls firmly on us," said the Austrian, who is taking his fair share of responsibility for the loss. "Our problems were of our own making, you can't pin that on anyone else. We're all at fault at the moment," he continued.

The midfielder didn't exclude himself from those responsible following the disappointing 3-1 loss. However, Junuzovic ran the furthest (12.53km), had the most shots on goal (3), put in the most crosses (5) and made the highest number of intense runs (77) of all Werder players, but the 28-year-old was unable to prevent the loss. He was critical of his own performance: "We all need to take a look at ourselves and scrutinise what went wrong. I'm certainly doing that," Junuzovic added.
The 2014/15 Werder Player of the Year was consistently responsible for dangerous situations in the opposition penalty area last season with his set pieces, but things have started to dry up in this campaign. With two goals and two assists, he's contributed to four of Werder's 14 goals so far this season. An dissatisfying total, above all for the Austrian himself. "When it's not going well, you quarrel with yourself, take a step back and mull over your own performance. These aren't easy days," explained Junuzovic.
However, he is "one hundred per cent sure" that Werder will emerge from their difficult period, as they did last season. The Green-Whites have 13 points on the board after 14 matchdays, and the key word for Junuzovic is "togetherness," which he has emphasised several times. "It's the deciding factor. It's important that we communicate and don't blame others for their mistakes. Only together can we get back into our rhythm." Junuzovic and his teammates want to work to ensure that their team discussions in the future can be more enjoyable.
