Autumnal Bremen instead of sunny Spain trip: Zlatko Junuzovic will not be heading to Spain with the Austrian national team for the friendly against Switzerland, but will be staying back home on the Weser. This decision was made between national team coach Marcel Koller, Werder and the ÖFB (Austrian FA).
Junuzovic has bruised his leg from his shin to the back of his knee, and it is causing him irritation and pain. "We were informed that the injury would have to have fully healed," said Junuzovic. It was agreed that after the important away win against Augsburg, Junuzovic would have a one-week break. "I was told that I could play a part in the game and I would now be fully recovered."
The midfield man can now take to the field injury free, but will undergo a personal treatment programme at the Weser-Stadion in the coming days. Junuzovic will be able to take part in light running exercises by the end of the week. "My goal is to be able to train with the team again in the next week and to be available for the Wolfsburg game," said Junuzovic.
