After the referee played four minutes of added time in the game against Augsburg, just after they had reduced the deficit to one goal, Werder had a nervy few seconds. After the final whistle, however, the Bremen players were very relieved to have won the match 2-1. "The relief is enormous. It was a massively important three points before the international break. We had to hold out at the end, but we managed," said Fin Bartels, scorer of Werder's second goal. Hear what the players and head coach had to say after the win.

On the game:
Fin Bartels: "We had good chances on the counter in the first half, some of which we could've done better in. In the second half, we took the first chance we got, which was very important."
Viktor Skripnik: "It's a great victory. We took our chances. When you go into the international break after a loss it's a very long and uncomfortable two weeks."
Felix Wiedwald: "Augsburg played a lot of balls over the top, but we dealt well with it, as we have done in recent weeks. I think there has been a development in our defense. That was a pivotal game where we really needed the points."
Claudio Pizarro: "Everyone talked about how we haven't won here before, but that just motivated us. It was a very important win, and we have had a lot of bad luck in recent weeks. We know have two weeks in which we can train in peace. We could've scored even more goals, but it's good that we got the two. I think we are heading in the right direction."

On Claudio Pizarro's goal:
Viktor Skripnik: "I'm happy for him. It's for precisely this reason that we brought him in. He finished it off very nicely."
Fin Bartels: "It was a dream goal. Santi did well in defence and played the perfect pass to Claudio who finished it coolly. That's why he's here."
Felix Wiedwald: "Santi played a really amazing cross in, and Pizarro showed his class in the volley. It made us all very happy."
On the penalty:
Wiedwald: "Of course it's a shame that we couldn't get a clean sheet, but it really doesn't matter. The important thing is that we won the game."
On the coming together with Theodor Gebre Selassie:
Wiedwald: "I came out and wanted to play the ball. I don't know if caught him or not, but it's obviously scary when your teammate is lying on the ground. He was in all of our minds, but at that stage of the game you have to concentrate. I hope it's nothing serious and we all hope he gets well soon."
