On the 10th matchday, Levin Öztunali was unavailable due to a bruised foot, and didn't make the squad to help his teammates in the 3-1 victory over Mainz. On Monday morning, however, the U21 national player was back in training. All ten of the players who started against Mainz joined him back on the training pitch today.
The team usually get the second day after a game free, but because of the midweek fixtures, Zlatko Junuzovic, Alejandro Gálvez, Anthony Ujah, Clemens Fritz, Fin Bartels, Theodor Gebre Selassie, Jannik Vestergaard, Philipp Bargfrede, Florian Grillitsch and Santiago García all took part in a recovery session.
Left back Santiago Garcia, according to head coach Viktor Skripnik, took a knock in the Mainz game. "He has been in constant contact with the medical department and has already told us that the injury would not be harmful to him. He is so football daft that he would probably play without bones! We must, however, be careful and proceed with caution," said Skripnik in a press conference on Monday.
The next session for Fritz, García and Co. will be on Tuesday at 15:00, and it will be the final training session ahead of the DFB Cup game against Köln.
