+++ Milestone for the captain: Clemens Fritz made his 250th Bundesliga appearance for Werder against Bayern on Saturday. Only 17 players in the club's history have made more appearance for the Green-Whites. "I've had many wonderful moments and plenty of fun at Werder, but we've also overcome some difficult moments. I'm very proud to play for this club. But I'm more annoyed that we lost on Saturday and I'm mainly concerned with trying to guide us out of this situation," the 34-year-old told WERDER.DE +++

Eggestein started the match and scored two first-half goals, though Schmidt is yet to make an appearance. +++

+++ Santiago García voted Volkswagen "Man of the Match": Even though SV Werder suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to FC Bayern on Saturday, Santiago Garcia was still awarded Volkswagen "Man of the Match after a sterling performance. Over the 90 minutes, the left back ran more than any other Werder player, won the most takes, played the most passes and had more possession than any other Green-White player. Despite the defeat, Santi can at least be pleased with his award: "I will hang this up in my room," said the Argentinean. +++
