+++ 'Juno' was once again unable to take part in training due to an illness, as was the case on Monday. It remains unclear when the 27-year-old Austrian will be able to return to the side, but on the positive side, Philipp Bargfrede is a step closer to making a comeback. The defensive midfielder trained individually at the start of the week and was able to do the same on Wednesday. The 26-year-old missed the Hoffenheim game at the weekend with a bruised foot. Raphael Wolf, who is suffering from a torn muscle fibre, and Özkan Yildirim, who is dealing with a knee injury, were both also able to train alone in midweek. +++

+++ First teamers in focus: Along with two training sessions on Wednesday, Werder first-team players Clemens Fritz, Claudio Pizarro, Aron Jóhannsson and Lukas Fröde had another important event on their schedule. The four players were either not yet at Bremen for the annual DFL media day on the 10th July, or missed it for other reasons, so instead had their official photo shoot for the 2015/16 season this morning at the Weser-Stadion. +++
+++ Professional football supports refugees - Hermes offer up their own arm badge advert: German football and Bundesliga premium partner Hermes will come together this weekend to do their bit for the integration of refugees. As such, on matchday 5 of the Bundesliga and matchday 7 of the Bundesliga 2, Hermes has granted all teams permission to replace their arm badge advertisement with a logo reading: 'We're helping - #refugeeswelcome,' which intends to encourage a welcoming attitude towards refugees in Germany. +++
