Following the 3-1 away win against Hoffenheim, the Werder first team took part in a training session today, but were without Sunday's two-goal hero Zlatko Junuzovic. The 27-year-old midfielder is suffering from a cold and needs time to recover, and he was not the only player to be out of action at the beginning of the week.
Along with the Austria international, Oliver Hüsing and Julian von Haacke both played for the U23s at the weekend and picked up injuries in the game against Sonnenhof Großaspach. Von Haacke has to sit out with a thigh injury, whilst Hüsing will have a scan this afternoon.
Goalkeeper Michael Zetterer is suffering from a bruised wrist sustained in the warm-up in Sinsheim. Philipp Bargfrede and Raphael Wolf are both training alone with a foot injury and a muscle tear respectively.
