What do the cities of Plzeň, Washington and Port Harcourt in Nigeria have in common? That's right, all three will host international matches featuring SV Werder players in early September. Those selected for international duty will all travel to meet up with their respective squads following Sunday's afternoon match against Borussia Mönchengladbach (17:30 CEST).
Zlatko Junuzovic and Theodor Gebre Selassie both have European Championship 2016 qualifiers to contend. Junuzovic's Austria face both Moldova and Sweden during the international break, whilst Gebre Selassie and the Czech Republic come up against Kazakhstan and Latvia. Izet Hajrovic and his home nation Bosnia-Herzegovina also face the tricky test against Belgium in Brussels in their European qualifier.

The Green-White's new strike duo have also both been called up for international duty. Anthony Ujah and Nigeria come up against Tanzania in an African Cup of Nations qualifier, before playing Niger in a friendly three days later. Meanwhile, Aron Jóhannsson can look forward to two tough friendlies against Peru and Brazil with the USA national team.
Youngsters Florian Grillitsch and Ulisses Garcia have also been selected to represent their countries' U21s for the upcoming European Championship qualifiers. Attacker Grillitsch will face Azerbaijan and Russia with the Austrian U21s, whilst our Swiss left back has been named as a reserve for the match against Kazakhstan in Almaty. Whether or not Garcia will make his first appearance for the U21s will be decided in the next week. Martin Kobylanski from the Werder U23s has also been called up to represent the Poland U21s in a friendly against Sweden.
