Good news for Anthony Ujah. The Werder forward has been nominated for the Nigerian national squad for the first time in over two years. Manager Sunday Oliseh has called Ujah up for the "Super Eagles" qualifier against Tanzania on Saturday, 5th September 2015 in Dar es Salaam.
"It's a huge honour for me to be chosen to play for my home country again as a reward for my hard work and good preseason with Werder. It shows me, that my switch to Werder was the right move, and was important for me," said Ujah - delighted about the call up. So far, Friday night's goalscorer at Hertha has a total of five international first team appearances.
Olympic champion and ex-Bundesliga pro Sunday Oliseh has been managing the Nigerian side for a good month now. "As a former Bundesliga player he definitely pays extra attention to this league, but the Bundesliga is one of the biggest in the world and attracts a great deal of attention anyway. For me as a player in Germany, it's obviously an advantage," claims Ujah. After the qualifier against Tanzania, the "Super Eagles" take on neighbouring country Niger in a home friendly on 8th September.
