He was Werder's star man last season: Zlatko Junuzovic. The Green-White fans have voted the Austrian "Volkswagen Player of the Season 2014/15" and he was officially presented with the award at the "Fan's Day" on Saturday. The "award" ceremony had to be cancelled, however, due to stormy weather.
Junuzovic was delighted with the award. "This award is a great honour for me. I am delighted with this recognition, but it obviously carries a lot of responsibility," explained the 27-year-old. "I want to build on my performances next season, continue improving and justify this award, which wouldn't even have been possible had my teammates not converted so many of my assists", continued the Austrian.

Werder's midfield maestro scored six goals last season, five of which were spectacular free kicks. On top of that, Junuzovic created 15 assists for his teammates. In the whole Bundesliga, only Kevin De Bruyne (16) and Thomas Müller (22) set up more goals. In the end it was no surprise that the Austrian was the clear winner of the "Volkswagen Player of the Season 2014/15" award, with 62% of the votes. With a total of 1,462 votes, he was way ahead of second-placed Franco Di Santo (582) and Fin Bartels (248) in third.
