The tough test against Sevilla is over, but there's still plenty of preparation to do before the season starts. The Green-Whites have good reason to be happy after the 3-1 win against FC Sevilla, but at the same time but the likes of Bartels, Junuzovic and Co. have all emphasised how much work is still left to do.

WERDER.DE have rounded up the most important quotes from several members of the playing and backroom staff.

On the game:

Viktor Skripnik: "We're very pleased that we won and such a positive experiences helps build confidence. There were a lot of positives from the game, but also it was also clear where we are currently lacking. However, the team are lively and want to attack. I like that."

Izet Hajrovic: "We started our pre-season earlier than FC Sevilla and it was clear to see that we were physically superior than them. The second goal was a brilliant move."

Fin Bartels: "Everything went fairly well. It was a friendly so it's obviously a lot easier and there are fewer risks. Everything starts from scratch in two weeks. That's when it all counts."

Zlatko Junuzovic: "It took a while for our to find our way into the game, but then we played some good football. Things are going well and we're all looking forward tot he season. Today was just another step forward, with a brilliant friendly; however, that was by no means a 'dress rehearsal' for us."

Anthony Ujah: "I'm very happy to score my first goal in front oft he home crowd. I'm not only happy about the goal though, but also because we put on a super performance today. Sevilla are a strong opponent and are the reigning Europa League champions. What's more important is hat we played so well today. My goal gives me even more confidence fort he new season."

Pre-season impressions

Viktor Skripnik: "The players can enjoy themselves this evening and relax, but us coaches will start analysing the game straight away. There are still a few things that we need to work on."

Zlatko Junuzovic: "There's still two weeks to work on all finer details before the DFB Cup. It's difficult to stay where everyone is at this stage, even after a match against a strong opponent. We won't know that until we play our first competitive match."

Anthony Ujah: "Obviously a 3-1 win against Sevilla is a brilliant result, however we shouldn't make the mistake of getting ahead of ourselves. We can still improve and will do everything in training to make sure we start the season well. That's the top priority!"

On the Fans' Day

Viktor Skripnik: "Unfortunately the weather didn't get the memo today, but I think we still put on a good day for the fans."

Anthony Ujah: "It was a special experience to be welcomed by all the Werder fans at the Weser-Stadion. I hope I can give something back to them this season and I look forward to many more games at the Weser-Stadion!"
